Hi Rob, I have had THE most painful video experience with a JVC Everio camcorder. In fact, cutting off my left arm would be less painful than trying to load one of the video clips onto WMM. "oh yes this would be very easy for students to use" says t…

HI Rob, I agree with your frustrations on people thinking that kids will use technology for evil wherever possible. It was interesting to note that at the recent Kids Congress held in Bendigo it was the Non Netbook schools' students who were the fir…

Hello Narissa, Audacity can be a bit flaky on Vista - I just get the kids to save often. The more annoying thing is the number of times of I have to re-configure netbook sound cards everytime I want to use audio with different student groups (where'…

5LFM has been launched!

On Friday about half of my students were at orienteering- what to do with the remainders? I scrapped the work plan for the day and decided to create a radio station for our class- 5LFM.
We have been studying 'Protecting Our Planet' in class and that was to be the theme for Friday's episode. After discussing the different segments of a radio station the students broke up into groups of no more than 4 and worked together to type up a script. In the end we had;
A song about protecting our planet wi… Continue

Netbooks and homes

Hi all,
I am just wondering how many schools have sent their netbooks home already and are there schools out there who haven't? Was speaking to a grade 6 parent last night who had no idea when their child would be able to take their netbook home. I was under the impression that all students should have done this by now??
Any problems with students who have taken them home?
Any good things happening?
Cheers,
Narissa

Do we need to develop a guide for teach… Continue
